Hi Folks,
I've been building a big bore Yamaha , starting wih a 1979 XS650.
Changed the connecting rods for Honda CR500 ones as they are 14mm longer than he US model rods. (144mm vs 130mm) This doesnt change he stroke but it gives better con-rod angles so less friction.
Also bored it out to take the V-twin XV 750 pistons which are about 8mm larger than standard ones (83mm vs 75mm)
I uploaded a 20 sec video to Photobucket of it running. Nice and loud as I haven't finished the exhaust yet so it has short pipes ending just under the crankcase

The wiring is a mess as I have bypassed all the safety switches with jumper leads (clutch, sidestand etc)
Hope you like it.
PJ
