Robin Hood lay on his deathbed. Old age, and constant fighting had caught up with him, and now, as Little John and Will Scarlet looked sadly on, he was ready to go. Summoning a last breath, he said "Will, fetch me my trusty bow and arrow", and Will went to get it. "Thank you my old friend" said Robin, then pulling back the longbow with the last of his strength, and aiming it towards the open window, he gasped "Wheresoever this arrow lands, there will I be buried", and fired his last arrow. So honouring Robins last request, he was buried on top of his bedroom wardrobe.
